The Wes Paul BandCavern Showcase

What is Caldercats?

Caldercats is a musicial charity set up by musicians and supported by musicians, its mission is to to bring together musicians and music lovers, to let people know what's going on in the area, to organise jam sessions and concerts in order to raise money for local charities, and much more! We also keep an up to date list of any jam nights, open mic nights and meetings of musicians in Calderdale and the wider area. If you know of one that's not on the list, let us know.

Who runs it?

Caldercats is ran by local rock n roll group The Wes Paul Band, and welcomes all musicians and bands who want to play rock 'n' roll, country and blues to take part in our regular jam sessions and organised shows. We especially welcome young musicians looking for their first break. We can help you get gigs and network.

Caldercats was created by Wes Paul, Rebecca Paul and Paul Galvin out of a desire to put on great shows and bring together musicians in the Calderdale area, as they had previously done with great success in Merseyside.

Wes Paul was the stage manager and compere of Sounds of the Sixties Cavern Showcase for 2 years, running weekly shows at the famous Liverpool Cavern Club with original 50s/60s artists.

He moved to the area in July 2007 and began working on building up the scene and making contacts.

Where does it happen?

The latest Caldercats venture is hosting open mic nights in and around the Todmorden area.

Our most recent venue was The Smithy Bridge in Littleborough where we hosted a successful jam night every two weeks. We are currently looking for a new venue.

One of our regular venues is Todmorden Unitarian Church where we regularly hold open rehearsals and jams. Keep checking this site for more details and the Todmorden Unitarian Church website.

What do Caldercats do?

We organise shows, jam sessions and open mic nights in our local area for fun, money or charity.

We put musicians in touch with other musicians. Need a guitarist, drummer or bass player for your band or gig? We have a database of over 500 musicians who we can call on anytime.

If you're looking for a gig or venue, we also have an extensive list of pubs, clubs and bars that book live bands.

How can I get involved?

We are always looking for bands, musicians and artists to get involved, play at our open mic nights and join our ever expanding network!

If you are a band, singer, promoter, manager, landlord or just a music fan, and wish to get involved on any level then please e-mail Wes Paul.
